Jonah Hitchens and ‘The Snake Boys’
Jonah Hitchens has a legendary reputation in these parts. Him and his crew have been delivering Funk and Soul to the masses for over 10 years. Although hailing from the south west (and even going to school in Sidmouth), Jonah’s reputation has grown nationwide, having played prestigious venues such as Ronnie Scotts, Jazz Cafe and Pizza Express in London. Most recently, Jonah went on tour fronting one of the UK’s most successful funk and soul bands, Lack of Afro, where he was described as ‘the best frontman in the UK right now’. During that time he featured on the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show.
Jonah now Presents a brand new project, The Snake Boys. Born off the back of a Blues Brothers tribute night in Buxton, Jonah had the inspiration to write a whole album of original blueses… at least, as original as the ancient artform of the blues can be. It naturally pays tribute to some of the greats such as B.B King, Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix etc whilst simultaneously showcasing Jonah’s personality through his guitar playing. With the intentionally selected players of ‘The Snake Boys’ by his side it’s truly a dream combination not to be missed.
